SWAB RIG SERVICES FOR PRODUCING WELLS

Well Swabbing & Swab Rig Services

Swabbing lifts fluid out of a wellbore to reduce hydrostatic head and bring a well back to flow. A swab rig is also called a swabbing unit. It is routine work on marginal and mature production, after workovers, following stimulation, and any time a column of fluid is holding a well down. H&N runs swab rigs across Wyoming as commercial field support — same crews, same equipment, whether the job is one well or a scheduled program across a lease.

FISHING • RECOVERY • STUCK PIPE SUPPORT

Oilfield Fishing, Downhole Recovery & Stuck Pipe Recovery

When something is stuck, parted, or dropped in the hole, the job becomes a recovery operation and the cost of the well being down starts compounding. H&N provides fishing services with a complete line of pulling and fishing tools — hydraulic jars, overshots, and fishneck tool strings — and crews who have run recovery jobs in Wyoming wells for more than two decades.

Tell us what is in the hole, at what depth, and what has already been tried. That is usually enough for us to say whether we can help and what it will take.

Frequently asked questions

Swabbing uses a swab cup run on a sand line to lift fluid out of the wellbore. Removing that column of fluid lowers the hydrostatic pressure holding back the formation, which lets the well flow again. It is standard practice on mature and marginal wells, after workovers, and for recovering load fluid following stimulation.

Fishing is the recovery of anything stuck, parted, or dropped in a wellbore — tubing, rods, wireline, packers, plugs, or dropped tools. It uses specialised tools such as overshots to grip the fish and hydraulic jars to work it free. The objective is to get the well back into service without having to sidetrack or abandon it.

What is in the hole, its depth, its fishneck dimensions if known, how long it has been stuck, and what has already been attempted. Wellhead pressure matters too, because live high-pressure entry requires the grease-head setup. Even partial information is enough for us to tell you whether we can help.

12,500 pounds of working pulling capacity on a 52-foot derrick, with 14,000 feet of 1/2-inch galvanized swedged sand line and 4-speed drawworks.

Yes. One rig is equipped with a high-pressure grease-head setup for entry on high-pressure wells. Tell us the expected wellhead pressure when you send the request so we bring the right rig.
